What day is it again?

Today is my Monday. But, it's actually Tuesday. I like that. It means my week is shorter and makes me happy. I took yesterday off to use some personal time up and because Kevin's mom was away so I didn't have a sitter anyway. Kian was beyond thrilled to be able to stay home with mommy all day and no school. His words exactly. I offered to take him to pick berries, or go swimming or go somewhere, he said no. He just wanted to stay home and I was more than happy to oblige.

I got a lot of little things done around the house, crossed off things on my 'to do' list. We did "craffs and projects" all morning, per Kian's request. He made a puppet out of a paper bag, traced stencils, colored, cut and glued random things and we played with play dough. He loved every minute of it. And he didn't have one single accident all morning!

We went to the park and had dinner with friends. Kian played with the boys and enjoyed himself, and was rather quiet compared to his usual self. Kevin of course put him in a diaper, I feel like it's 2 steps forward and one step backward. Grr. Of course, then Kian was up and couldn't settle and didn't fall asleep until just before 10. Yes, 10 PM. Ugh. He woke up happy this morning though, we shall see. I'm sure by 5 pm it will be grump-a-saurus. He did remind me at 9:30 last night as I went to check on him, that we still needed to go berry picking. yes, we will. I need to make freezer jam.

And I'm hoping his happy, loving obsession with baby brother continues after the baby actually comes out and is here all the time.

And, I must get back to work now, school meetings call....

Work work work

This month, although it has 31 days, is short. Short work month because I am taking off almost 2 weeks from work around Christmastime. I usually try to take off at least a week around Christmas. I hate when time seems to fly by around the holidays and I can't enjoy it fully.

But, this means that I have to put my butt into super-high overdrive and get a ton of stuff done by the 23rd. Eek! Luckily, my required meetings for the month of December aer minimal. But, there aer still lots of calls to make, people to take care of, therapists to contact, parents to appease, you get the idea. And, since I still have notes from November to put in the computer, I best get going!!

Because, not only is there work to do at work, but there's work to do at home, Christmas baking to start, and presents to finish buying. Even though we've drastically cut our gift buying/exchanging, I still have 2 immediate members to buy for. I know, that's not much, but it's one more thing I want to check off my list!

Let the craziness begin!

A work post

This is the first time I've posted from work. The site used to be blocked, but it's not now, for some reason. I just Twittered that I feel my ears turning into telephone receivers and my fingers turning into pens. It's a disturbing thought, but one that would make my job so much easier. Imagine that. Clearly, this job is getting to me today.

I only have 3 more work days left before Thanksgiving break and the end of the month. The end of the month for us, is stressful as we have lots of records to turn in to be reviewed by the supervisors. All our notes have to be typed in the database and our billing for the program updated. Not to mention the day-to-day work, the phone calls, the urgent requests from parents and providers. That doesn't slow down ever. So, being that I have Friday, Monday and Tuesday to get a lot of things done before I take a few days off, it's a little overwhelming. When I come back it will be December already. Eek!

Didn't I just come back to work from an extended maternity leave and it was April? And sunny? And now it's nearing Christmas and the end of 2008 and it's snowy. Very dark, gray, snowing very much at this very minute. As only I know, because I am the only one in this program with a window in my office. Sweet. They hate me, but they love me because they congregate in this office. We observe the parking lot, the weather, the crazy people on the street below, people peeing on the buildings, and it's the biggest office to accommodate their company.

I need to bring in my camera and force my coworkers into being photographed and blogged about. They'll love that.
